Dan Williams, a proud Brentwood High school alumni and an active member of our Brentwood family has recently passed away.
Mr. Williams graduated from Brentwood High School in 1986, and ever since then, he has played a prominent role in everything Brentwood related. Williams was a Marine Corps veteran and served on the Board of Education when he lived in Brentwood. His two children also attended Brentwood schools.
Williams was dedicated to our athletes, coaching many young children at both St. Mary Magdalen and Brentwood in basketball. And most notably, Mr. Williams was the announcer for the Brentwood Eagles Football team for over 18 years, even traveling from Springfield, Missouri, just to be the voice in the loudspeakers. Because of his passing, BHS vice principal Dr. Stephen Ayotte has now had to take over announcing for the football games. “I’m not the one who should be sitting in that booth,” said Ayotte, a longtime friend of Williams. “It should be Danny.”
Williams’s commitment to the school has been proven by everything he has done, and the entirety of Brentwood feels the effects of his passing.
Mr. Williams nickname was “Mr. Brentwood,” and it’s easy to see how he lived up to the moniker in every way.
In addition to his service to our community, Williams was known as an all-around great guy. To know Dan Williams was to love Dan Williams. “He was always kind, smiling, and had a great story to tell,” recounted Dr. Ayotte. “I never met anyone who did not like Dan Williams.”
Mr. Williams’s legacy is vast, and all of Brentwood will greatly miss him.
