This coming November there will be a huge election where citizens vote for who they want to be the President of the United States. Brentwood High School also had elections this fall – class officer elections. At Brentwood, typically, it’s the Student Council leadership that does more of the heavy lifting when it comes to planning student events, but perhaps this year, that is going to change. “We will probably make them do something,” said Ege Alanoglu, STUCO vice president. Alanoglu said that last year, STUCO leadership had hoped to involve class officers more, such as in spirit week planning, but it didn’t really happen. But this year, Alanoglu hopes that changes.
As for who won these class officer positions? For the sophomore class, Meerab Fatima won the position of class president. “I just wanted to help make this year fun,” she said. “I also think it’s fun to decorate and organize things for the grade.”
For the freshmen class, Antonina Militello won the position of class president. “I only ran for class president because I knew no one else was going to go against me,” Militello said. “I wanted to run because I thought it seemed like a fun thing to do.”
