This Saturday, September 28th at 1 p.m., the BHS football team, which is combined with Clayton High School’s team, will have its first home game of the season. While it’s not the team’s first “home” game since they’ve already played 2 games at Clayton, it’s their first game where they will play at Brentwood.
Currently, the BHS-CHS record is 1-3. They won their first game against Principia but lost against Westminster Christian Academy, Gateway STEM, and Windsor (Imperial). “We have a lot of opportunities to get a lot of wins,” said coach Chris Robin.
Last year the team lost a lot of good talent including Brentwood seniors Arris Phillip Harris, Trenton Mitchell, and Ethan Ritter, so this year Robin put players in new roles and filled some spots that were solid last year. Between the JV and varsity squads, this year Brentwood has 18 students playing.
Coach Robin feels that this year’s team has a lot of promise but are still trying to figure everything out. “It’s a lot like last year, where early on we struggled, but once everybody kind of bought into what we were doing, it turned out really good,” said Robin. “So that’s kind of where we are. We’re just trying to figure that whole piece out.”
Starting the game on Saturday against University City, expect to see seniors Tyler Taylor and Jack O’Brien, junior Demeterius Thompson, sophomore Jack Magee, and freshman Finn O’Brien.
We hope to see you at the game at 1:00
