According to Safer Schools Together, Twitch is an online streaming platform where users can watch and broadcast live-stream videos. The culture of the website is mainly based around video games, however, there are other topics such as music, food, and general discussion. Twitch can be viewed anywhere. Twitch is different from many other online shows/apps because of how it’s set up. It’s sort of similar to YouTube, but streamers are able to stream for hours/days on end. If you’re unfamiliar with Twitch, you might be wondering why anyone would even want to watch a streamer for hours or every day. Mostly I agree. But there is one exception that makes Twitch completely worthwhile: Kai Cenat.
Kai Cenat is a 22-year-old streamer on Twitch. He began his social media career in 2018, launching a YouTube channel that now has more than 6 million subscribers, on which he posts prank videos and comedy. Cenat largely migrated to Twitch (a streaming service) in 2021, achieving a frame for his gaming streams and discussions of pop culture. He is now thriving on Twitch with 15 million followers, but as of November 30, 2024, he holds the most-subscribed channel on Twitch of all time, with 728,535 subscribers.
Cenat recently streamed for 30 days straight for Mafiathon 2, a stream in November that went on for 30 days starring many different special celebrity guests like Snoop Dogg, Miranda Cosgrove, Bill Nye, Kevin Hart, and more. During these thirty days, he beat the world record for subscribers on Twitch.
Cenat is an amazing streamer because of what he does and how he incorporates it to where the viewers love it. He does many different things to make his streams fun and entertaining to the viewers. I enjoy watching him mainly because of these reasons, he does things that many other streamers don’t do such as adding multiple different high celebrities on his streams, an example was when he just had the November stream displaying many different celebrities. For 30 days straight, he did not cut the livestream once. That shows how dedicated he is in what he does, and how much he loves what he does.
Also something that is a little different is that Kai’s mother supports him and everything that he does. Usually other streamers’ parents and family think that it’s weird that they are making a living off of streaming. Cenat has a really good support system and I think that’s what keeps him on his grind.
Cenat is part of a group called AMP (Any Means Possible); the group started with four members, namely: Davis “ImDavisss,” Duke Dennis, Roberto “Fanum,” and Din “Agent 00”. Kai Cenat and Chris “Chrisnxtdoor” joined later. AMP has over six million subscribers on YouTube, pumping out content regularly. Its content includes gameshows, pranks, competitions, and video games. Kai Cenat isn’t just enjoyed by teenagers. An anonymous 35-year-old person from Reddit reviewed Kai, saying that he enjoyed him and liked how energetic Kai was. “This dude keeps me laughing and happy. Days at work that can be tough or even nights at home that seem depressing, when he is streaming there isn’t a dull moment.” Since Kai is a night owl like many of his viewers, it’s easy to stick with him. Another anonymous contributor stated that they only know of Kai Cenat from one of their close family friends, “He’s really charismatic and has a great joyful energy about him that’s very engaging.”
This just shows the impact that Kai puts on his streamers and how fun he is to watch, he never has a dull moment and is always full of energy. That’s why I and many other people enjoy watching his streams and that’s why he blew up really fast. All of his dedication and work never ends.
