Students dress up (or down) for day 3 of Homecoming Spirit Week. Country vs. Country Club. Who won?

It’s almost time for this year’s homecoming, which means that it’s time to show some Brentwood pride!

STUCO encourages you to show some school spirit from October 1st through the 6th with the following themes:

Monday: PJ day! Be sure to get cozy and wear your favorite pair of pajamas.

Tuesday: Meme day! Get creative and represent your favorite internet meme.

Wednesday: Class color day! Freshmen and sophomores wear yellow, and juniors and seniors wear purple.

Thursday: Dress like a teacher day! Choose any teacher and dress similarly to them.

Friday: Barbie vs. Oppenheimer! Wear either pink or black clothing.

On Tuesday, October 3rd, STUCO will be decorating posters outside the Moritz entrance to show appreciation for all of our school clubs from 6:00-8:00. Come help them out and show some support for our Brentwood activities!

We’re also celebrating with our homecoming football game here at BHS against Riverview Gardens at 7:00 on Friday, October 6th. This is one of our few games at Brentwood this year, so be there to celebrate our student-athletes!

Preceding the homecoming football game, there will be a pep rally on the same day in the afternoon. There will be both a girl’s powderpuff football game and a boy’s volleyball game. Practices will be on Tuesday, October 3rd, for upperclassmen and on Wednesday, October 4th for underclassmen during advisory. If you’re interested, fill out the google form in your email to get in the game!

Our homecoming dance is on Saturday, October 7th, and this year’s theme is Barbenheimer. For a little context on what that means, Oppenheimer, a very bleak movie about the creation of the atomic bomb, and Barbie, a more lighthearted movie about the iconic doll, both premiered on July 21, 2023. This coincidence was coined “Barbenheimer” by the internet. Our homecoming is themed around this in a pink and black theme that highlights the idea of two polar opposites coming together.

Tickets will be sold for $10 during homecoming week (October 2nd-6th). They can be purchased both at the high school entrance before school and in the Moritz hallway during advisory. Doors are open from 6:30-7:00, and the dance ends at 9:00.

Show your love for Brentwood this week and have fun!
