Flowers are blooming; the sun is shining down; springtime is here! The entirety of St. Louis is gearing up for the adventures of baseball season, and with the warm weather, so are the Brentwood Eagles. With 6 games under their belts as of now and a record of 4 and 2, The Nest wanted to take a moment to catch up with the team.

Last year, the season of ‘24, was one of the best that Brentwood Baseball has had in years. According to senior Brayden Ingram, who’s been playing all four years, in the middle of last season, there was a switch that flipped, and the team completely took off, going on a massive winning streak of 10 wins, ending their season with 11 wins and 8 losses.
With last year’s leaps and bounds of progress and only the loss of one senior, plus the addition of some promising freshmen, expectations for this year are high.
This year’s season kicked off during the school’s spring break with a March 21st double-header against Clayton. The first game was a close win with the Eagles making a narrow win of 1-0, but unfortunately, the boys were worn out by the second game and lost.
The team played again on Monday, March 24th against Jefferson R-VII. It was a close game with both teams fighting tooth and nail to take home the victory but unfortunately, in the end, the Eagles lost 0-1. Senior Abel Curdt, who plays shortstop and pitcher and has been playing baseball with BHS since his freshman year, said, “We played good defense. I think we really just need to find our place, but we’re working well together.”
On March 27th, Brentwood took home their second win against Priory and another one the next day when they played Crystal City and left with an incredible 8-1 score. It seems to only be going up from here.
“I think we’ll do better than last year because we only graduated one senior, and we have more people,” said freshman Finn O’Brien who catches, pitches, and plays third. “I think everyone’s getting along and we’re playing well.”
As the games continue, so does the confidence and skill of our team. Brentwood played McCluer North and won with a staggering score of 20-2!
Come out and see the Eagles play once more on April 5th, at 11:00 a.m., at Oakville! Be there or be square!
