The competition is taking a turn this week towards photography! Last week, ten stunning pieces of art were submitted and the race for first was a close one. The next two competitions will be centered around photography and they will have a different structure. This week, the competition will take place on the Instagram story of @brentwood.journalism. Each day there will be four sets of two photos going head to head against each other. Due to the new bracket structure of this photo competition, The Nest is allowing SIXTEEN ENTRIES which will be chosen on a first come, first serve basis.
The rules are as follows:
- Find a beautiful picture photographed by you
- Your photo MUST be school appropriate or it won’t be featured
- DM the photo to @brentwood.journalism on Instagram (if you don’t have Instagram, email the picture to [email protected])
- PHOTOS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY THE END OF WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22nd
How to win:
- Once all 16 photos are submitted, a bracket will be created and voting will take place from Thursday to Sunday, with the final two pictures standing going head to head.
- On each voting day, the picture with the most votes from the INSTAGRAM STORY will move on to the next round of competition
- THE FINAL ROUND IS ON SUNDAY, APRIL 26th
The winner will receive a feature in the newspaper and a spot on the virtual plaque! Last week, the winner was Katelyn Kimmel with 56 votes! In second place was Anne Wagner with 43 votes! There will be an article about Kimmel and her art later this week. Anyone with original photos is encouraged to submit an entry into the competition. Go take some pictures!
